Tyler Zaugg, OD

Dr. Tyler Zaugg is a Southeast Idaho Native and is thrilled to be back in the area. He was born and raised in Idaho Falls and graduated from Skyline High School. He then went to a semester of school at BYUI prior to serving a full-time church mission in Northern Peru. While in Peru he became fluent in Spanish, which he says has since become very helpful when working with Spanish speaking patients. He finished his undergraduate degree at BYU in Provo, UT, then moved with his family to Forest Grove, Oregon where he received a degree in optometry from Pacific University College of Optometry.

Dr. Zaugg received hands-on training at the Gundersen Eye Clinic in Wisconsin, with the Eye Care Group of Southern Oregon, at the Mann Grandstaff VA Medical Center in Spokane, WA, and at the US Indian Health Services in Fort Hall, ID. Prior to coming to Blackfoot, he worked alongside an ophthalmologist caring for the eye care needs of families in Moscow, ID and Pullman, WA. His professional interest include providing comprehensive eye care for entire families (pediatrics to geriatrics), managing eye conditions (such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, dry eye, keratoconus, etc.), providing myopia control management, and helping patients achieve optimal vision through glasses, soft contact lenses (including single vision and multifocal contacts), hard contact lenses, and scleral lenses.

Dr. Zaugg is married and has 3 young boys. He enjoys spending time with family, going camping, fishing, skiing, golfing, and playing racquetball.
